Easy and economical marquees

Using a marquee is such a fun, easy and economical way to create the perfect environment for an event. Its fun because its not the most common type of construct for an event which gives it a sense of occasion whenever you enter one. There’s never any doubt that when you see a marquee, set up and ready to go, that this is something that is going to out-do all your usual, run of the mill venues. Walking into a marquee venue is vastly different than walking into a hotel room, boardroom or other type of building. And what makes marquees even more fun is that they can be set up with all the creature comforts and still add a touch of authenticity to your function. Being both easy and economical adds to the special charm of a marquee because you know that when you buy one, you are investing in the perfect location – versatile, flexible and not pinned down to any specific area.

One of the things that we do recommend that you consider is ensuring that when you are using your marquee, you first assess the requirements of the day or event and make sure that what you need to make the day great is already there when you guests arrive. Especially here in the UK, the weather is one of the most important factors to consider. From balmy summer evenings that stretch on into sun-touched nights, to snow that lays its way as the path to the Winter Wonderland of your marquee… its essential to consider how to take care of all aspects of the shifting UK weather patterns. When it comes to dealing with the chilly days, DIY Marquees Mobile knows all about heating a marquee and is equipped to provide the solution to keep your guests toasty on the day. Here are some aspects of heating that we would like to share with you.

Practically speaking, we all know that heat rises so this means that the top of your marquee is going to house the heat first and then it will filter down from there. The remedy to this would be to use direct heaters but these simply warm-up the immediate area and give very little reprieve from the chilly to those who are further away from the heating device. It will also centralise your crowd around the heaters and this will detract from the main event. Folks will be less inclined to leave the comfort of their warm spots in order to involve themselves in other activities. Chose an indirect heater instead of a direct heater. That way the warm air will disperse more evenly and even thought the hot air rises, we know that we have designed our marquees to best maximise both the function as well as the form of the marquee ensuring that the whole marquee warms up evenly. To test this out, make sure that you try the heater out before the event and see how the warm air distributes at different times of the day. That way you can also work out how many heaters you will need before leaving your guests turning blue and leaving early. And if you chose a diesel or fuel powered heater, we highly recommend that you set up one carbon monoxide detector for safety purposes, we recommend one for every heater.
